| This page is dedicated to the descendants of Thomas McClaughry (c.1717-1793). Born in County Longford, Ireland to Scotch-Irish parents, he emigrated to New York in 1765 and can be referenced by hundreds of descendants as the first father of the American McClaughry families. This site is definitely under construction (& the finish looks very far away). Most of the research material for this website come from excepts from "The Families McClaughry" by Rev. Lyle Mac Laury. | The line of Thomas McClaughry as I know it, actually goes backward one generation to his father, Matthew McClaughry (1.1) of Co. Longford, Ireland. I've also added a suspected grandfather of Thomas (both listed on Thomas' page). Please email me if you might have any information on Thomas' Irish and Scottish ancestors. The numbering system has been recently revised to match the numbering system of the book, "The Families McClaughry"1.
